I have recently, and proudly, been appointed as Art Director for the Chap Magazine.
The Chap is a quirky, but trendy magazine dedicated to vintage lifestyles and is distributed across Britain’s high-street agents, including WH Smiths and Waterstones. My first task as Art Director, was to completely refresh the design giving the magazine a more mainstream appeal, whilst maintaining the already dearly loved, vintage character of The Chap.
Now a 164 page magazine that runs quarterly, I oversee the full production from page layout design, advertisement chasing and final artwork.
Rachel is a joy to work with and works so quickly that it’s difficult to keep up with her. However, she is also extremely fastidious and her attention to multiple details on a job as complicated as The Chap is astounding.Rachel can easily be left alone with the complex and varied production schedule of an entire issue of The Chap, from scratch, with complete confidence, allowing the rest of the team to concentrate on their own part of the job, with the end result of a beautifully designed magazine completely ready to be printed. I would have no hesitation in recommending Rachel to work on any design project from a magazine to a retail web site.
